Recent Movie Viewings

Jason Takes Manhatten (FT13th8)
Wow, definitely one of the worst movies i've ever seen (is it over yet? no? now? no? dammit!). not many movies are more poorly written and i don't think i've ver seen a less scary "horror" movie. Ridiculous amounts of young jason, huge gaps in logic (they are in a life boat on the hudson river, but can't find shore? it's a f@#$ing river!). 0/4 stars...

The Warriors (ultimate directors edition)
OK, i still like this movie, but i now realize there probably isn't a movie out there w/ worse continuity. I can't even list all the problems but you really have to wonder if anyone bothered to watch the damn thing before they released it...i mean you people are professionals aren't you? Some cool old school graffiti in the city shots, though. 2/4 stars (nothing special about the special edition)...

M
A movie about a child killer musta been super shocking back in the day...but man is fritz lang one of the most overrated directors ever. 1/4 stars (terrible if you consider how often it is held up as a classic)...

The Beast of Yucca Flats
The assholes who made this movie seem to actively hate movie making. But, the narration is so aweful it is hilarious, and the fact that no one talks while looking at the screen is awesome (it was shot silently to save money). an mst3k treat. 0/4 stars...

Playing w/ a Holga

A holga is a cheap, cheap, cheap plastic camera with lots of fogging and light leak, but it really ends up looking pretty cool:

This is all in the train yard under Dinky Town, color pics of this yard can be found on my flickr site...

New Window

Here's our new prairie style window created by the Goddess of Glass, Connie Beckers! It's perfect in our little craftsman house...it stopped me in my tracks this morning because it was so bright and ambery in a space that used to be so dark...

"Dear Israel: Bomb This"
Seriously, chill the f@%& out! You don't respond to two soldiers being kidnapped by bombing the crap out of a country, killing dozens of civilians, and setting back the infrastructure 30 yrs. Try using your words like a big boy...

"I Feel Safer Already"
No really, I do...if unchecked aggression won't make us safe I don't know what will...

North American Graduate Art Survey

This summer I'm doing an internship at the U of MN's Nash Gallery, and as part of the internship we helped set up the show (it's really good, check it out if you get the chance):

I got to put up the word 'art' on the title wall (vinyl lettering, how cool!).

Got to help the artist set up this scultpture with the giant hand, it has a big head on top and stands over 6 feet tall.

I also painted the yellow cartouches on the wall for this little cabinet.
